Phyllis Bateman Crowe Ennis, age 92, of Millcreek, passed away Friday, April 21, 2017 at Forestview Healthcare Center.
She was born in Houtzdale, PA on October 1, 1924 daughter of the late Robert Earl and Fern Kephart Bateman.
Phyllis was a Machinist at AO Smith for 20 years, retiring in 1987.
Phyllis was an avid fisherman. She loved going to the casino, playing cards, playing board games and bingo. She could make a meal for 10 just by “throwing some things together” and still have food to take home. She loved to cook big meals. She especially enjoyed her cottage at the “Lake”, where she and Ed spent many hours and enjoyed all of the friends they had there.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, Edwin J. Ennis in 2006 and a sister, Bernita Bardsley.
Phyllis is survived by three sons, Robert Lee Crowe and his wife Becky of Girard, David G. Crowe of Lake City, William H. Crowe and his wife Susan of Painesville, OH; three step daughters, Shirley A. Bell and Lynn A. Cedeno and her husband Jose; both of Erie, and Carrie A. Ennis of Jamestown, NY. She is further survived by fifteen grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Friends may call at Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 W. 26th St. (at Powell Ave.) on Thursday from 10:00 until the time of the memorial service there at 11:00 am.
Burial will follow in Erie County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
