Phyllis A. Botwright, age 83, of Millcreek, passed away Monday April 4, 2016 at St Mary’s East, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Erie on December 20, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Elizabeth Wertz Clinton.
She graduated from Millcreek High School, Class of 1950, attended Erie Comptometer School from 1951-1952 and was a comptometer operator for Continental Rubber Works from 1950-1953.
Phyllis was a stay at home mom, lovingly raising four active boys. She was a very caring person, and after her boys were raised, she was caregiver to her mother and many others. She loved traveling the country with her husband “Jack”, and especially enjoyed times with her family in Florida. Phyllis loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and spending time with them.
She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and a member of the Sarah Circle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Michael C. Botwright, grandson Nicky Botwright, nephew Ralph J. Botwright, her sister Betty McLallen, her brother Cecil Clinton and sister-in-law Marie Clinton.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years John C. Botwright, Jr.; three sons: Timothy J. Botwright and his wife Karen, John B. Botwright and his wife Loree all of Erie; Patrick A. Botwright and his wife Michele of Tennessee; her sister Dorothy Storaci and her husband Frank of OH; seven grandchildren: Beth Noonan, Leanne Botwright, Emily Botwright all of Erie; Isabella, Remek, Noah and Elijah Botwright of Tennessee; and six great grandchildren: Lily, Rory, and Ryan Michael , Jaiden, Maci and Jacob, all of Erie. She is further survived by a sister-in-law Jean Botwright of AZ and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her beloved “Club Girls”, who have been together since grade school.
Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street (at Powell Ave.) on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 and Friday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 and are invited to services at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Saturday at 11:00 am.
Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
