Peter Schaper

Peter G. Schaper Jr. age 89 of Erie, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at UPMC Hamot surrounded by his family. 

He was born in Erie, PA on January 11, 1928 a son of the late Gustav and Florence Miller Schaper.

 He graduated from Mercersburg Academy and attended the University of Maryland and Gannon College. He retired from the Charles H. Fry Construction Co.

 In addition to his parents, Peter was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Lynn Schaper and brothers; Robert M. Schaper and David H. Schaper.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Eloise Roesch Schaper, three daughters; Bonnie Crisman (James) of Pleasantville, PA, Mary Laver (John) of Erie, PA and Melody Schaper (Dr. Neil Sicherman) of Phoenixville, PA. He also leaves seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

There will be a time of visitation from 3:00 pm till the time of a memorial service on Monday at 4:00 pm at Luther Memorial Church, 225 West 10^th St., Erie, PA 16501 with Reverend William Coleman officiating.
