Peter Musacchio

Peter J. Musacchio, age 46, of Millcreek, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Cleveland Clinic, following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Queens, NY on November 23, 1970, a son of Margaret Whiteway Messenger of Erie and John M. Musacchio of Florida.

Peter was a graduate of Gateway High School in Monroeville, PA, earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Pittsburgh and graduated from the Pittsburgh Art Institute. Peter was an Instructional Designer at the Ridge College at Mercyhurst University. He attended Grace Church.

Peter loved hockey. He played in high school and in the Erie Recreational Hockey League. He enjoyed adventures in his Jeep, attending Pitt games with his friends and winter activities around the lake. Most of all, Peter loved watching his daughter grow into a smart, witty and kind young lady.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Heather Smith Musacchio, his daughter, Sofia Musacchio, at home, his step-father, William Messenger of Erie, his stepmother, Linda Musacchio of Florida, his sister, Kathryn Middleton and her husband Michael of NY, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mark and Tammy Smith of Meadville, PA and a sister-in-law, Shannon Miller and her husband, Ted of Meadville, PA. He is further survived by two step-sisters, Karrie Mowry and her husband, David of Arizona and Laurie Spengler and her husband, Jeff of Pittsburgh, and two step-brothers, David Bair of FL and Jeff Bair and his wife Amy of Pittsburgh and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street (at Powell Ave.), on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service there at 4:15 p.m. with Reverend Dennis Chludzinski officiating.

Burial at Laurel Hill will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
