Peter Barnes

Peter Barnes, age 71, formerly of Erie, passed away on May 6, 2021.

He was born and raised in Erie, PA a son of the late Charles and Jayne Barnes.

Peter graduated from Harborcreek High School in 1968.

Peter worked for General Electric for 40 years.  He worked for 20 years in Erie building locomotives and 20 years in Kansas City supervising the maintenance of locomotives for the BNSF Union Pacific and Kansas City Southern railroads.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill and Charles.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Connie Snyder Barnes, three children, Heather Miller, Holly (Michael) Maines and Peter (Mindy) Barnes and two stepchildren, Shellie (Burt) Balke and Tim Altman.  Ten grandchildren, Amanda Balke, Tyler, Maison, Mackenzie and Casey Miller, Hannah, Will, Ethan and Jake Barnes and Xander Maines, a sister, Mrs. David(Susan) Knight, three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Bill (Violet) Barnes, Mrs. Charles (Sallie) Barnes, Patti Fetrow and numerous nieces and nephews further survive.

Friends may call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc., Wintergreen, 2532 Norcross Road, on Friday, June 25, 2021, from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m.

The service will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

Private inurnment will be in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
