Penelope Watkins

 Penelope A. "Penny" Bliss Watkins, 71, of Millcreek Twp., died on Friday, February 15, 2019, at St. Vincent Hospital.  She was born on May 23, 1947, in Salina, KS, daughter of Winifred D. Percival Bliss and the late Andrew J. Bliss. 

A 1966 graduate of Strong Vincent High School, Penny earned a degree as a Certified Nursing Assistant from Erie County Vo-tech.  She worked as an injection mold operator for Beechwood Industries, as a cashier and pharmacy tech. for Giant Eagle, and as a Certified Nursing Assistant for Western Reserve for over 15 years.  She enjoyed crocheting and being a homemaker. 

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Irene Wright Watkins and a daughter-in-law, Helena Watkins.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Donald L. Watkins; her mother, Winifred D. Percival Bliss of Erie; her father-in-law, John Watkins of Summit Twp., Pa.; two daughters, Melissa and Andrea Watkins with whom she resided; a son, John Andrew L. Watkins and wife Corinne of Waterford, Pa.; a sister, Dedra Shay and husband Kenneth of Waterford, Pa.; a brother, Andrew J. Bliss, Jr. and wife Tina of Erie; a sister-in-law, Debra Savelli of Pittsburgh, Pa.; five granddaughters, Catheryne, Cheyenne, Victoria and Dakota Watkins, and Payton Hood, all of Erie; a great-grandson, Michael Watkins of Erie; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Tuesday from 5 until 7 p.m. at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street. Erie, Pa.

Private burial will be at Erie County Memorial Gardens.
