Peggie Johnson

Peggie Joan Johnson, 89, of Fairview, PA passed away at Cleveland Clinic on Friday March 19, 2021 with family at her side. She was born December 1, 1931 in Erie, daughter of the late E. Clyde and Mary (Edgar) Snyder. She was a 1949 graduate of Fairview High School where she met and two years later in 1951 married her high school sweetheart Kenneth B. Johnson, who survives her and they reached 70 years of marriage on St Patrick’s Day March 17, 2021.

Peggie was most proud of her family and especially her grandchildren during her later years in life. In addition to being a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother she worked as a bookkeeper for many years, primarily at Lake City Industrial Products retiring in 1997. She also loved being a volunteer at UPMC Hamot where she was the bookkeeper of the Gift Shop for many years. Peggie was also a lover of birds, gardening and loved animals, mostly dogs.

In addition to her parents, Peggie was preceded in death by her brother E. Clyde “Skip” Snyder II and Patricia Hemme.

She is survived by her husband Kenneth B. Johnson; sons Jon Daniel Johnson Noblesville, IN, Clayton Drew Johnson, Fairview, PA and Eric J. Johnson (Michelle) of Denver, CO. She is further survived by her five grandchildren Danielle, Drew, Lily, Cooper and Kiera.

Private arrangements have been entrusted to Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, West Ridge, 3801 W. 26^th St. (at Powell Ave.) Erie, PA 16506. Inurnment will be private and at a later date within the family lot at Fairview Cemetery.
