Pearlie Dickerson

Pearlie E. Arrington Dickerson age 83, of Erie, passed away at UPMC Hamot on Tuesday, November 1, 2016. She was born in Womack Hill, AL on August 18, 1933 a daughter of the late T.C. and Virgie Cox Pace.

She was a graduate of Waynesboro Col. High School and worked with Erie1 as a social worker for many years. Pearlie worked as a housekeeper for the Hilton Hotel, where she retired from after many years.

Pearlie loved baking, gardening, quilting, and working on table and crossword puzzles.

In addition to her parents, Pearlie was preceded in death by her first husband, Chester Allen Arrington, a sister, Barbara Pace and a brother, Vernon Pace.

Pearlie is survived by her husband Ernest Dickerson as well as two daughters; Sheila Roberts and Sandra Arrington and by a stepson, Duane Arrington (Tisha), all of Erie, PA. She also leaves three grandchildren; Tiah Arrington Esters, of Charlotte, NC, Tommie Arrington, of Erie, PA and Joseph Roberts, of Atlanta, GA. Three great grandchildren also remain; Dionne Jones, Ladacia Coleman and Deandre Coleman, as well as a great-great-granddaughter, Timyra Graham, all of Charlotte, NC; Further surviving are there stepchildren, Michael Jenkins (Fatima), Ruby Pratt and Myrtis Dickerson, all of Erie, three brothers, Tommy C. Pace (Elmetta) of Erie, Elijah Pace and Harold Pace both of Pine Bluff, AR. Seven sisters also remain; Bernice Nobles (Ben) of Olympia Fields, IL, Yvonne Stewart (Chonse) also of Olympia Fields, IL, Lilian Pace of Casselberry, FL, Dr. Rose Pace of Pine Bluff, AR, Juanita Gist (Woodsby) of Manetta, GA and Dr. Billie J. Gilchrist (Thomas) of Casselberry, FL. A host of nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

Family and friends may call at Burton Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 602 West Tenth Street, Erie, PA 16502 on Wednesday from 11:00 am till the time of services there at 1:00 pm with Reverend Owen Rhodes officiating.
