Pauline Makela Lobaugh, 92, of Erie, died on Monday, January 11, 2016, at Golden Living Western Reserve. She was born on September 4, 1923, in Erie, daughter of the late Matthew J. and Aina Holmstrom Makela. She was a 1942 graduate of Strong Vincent High School, a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, and enjoyed knitting and playing 500 Rummy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Charles E. Lobaugh in 2011; a son, Jeffrey L. Lobaugh in 2002; three sisters, Sylvia Wheeler, Ruth Petrone and Joanne Grucza; and two brothers, John and Walter Makela.
Survivors include a son, Mark W. Lobaugh and wife Linda of Erie; daughter-in-law, Roberta Lobaugh of Erie; four grandchildren, Wendy McKeen and husband Tobie of Albion, PA, Scott Lobaugh and wife Lisa of Fort Meyers, FL, Jeremy Lobaugh and wife Jaime of Erie, and John Lobaugh and wife Clarissa of Indianapolis, IN; eleven great-grandchildren; and a Goddaughter, Karen Stephens of San Antonio, TX.
In accordance with Pauline's wishes there will be no visitation or services. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street.
