Paul Duberow

Paul Joseph Duberow, age 92, of Fairview, passed away, Sunday April 24, 2016 at Pleasant Ridge Manor West.

He was born in Erie, on June 7, 1923 a son of the late Fredrick and Elizabeth Staab Duberow.

Paul was a graduate of Sacred Heart, Erie Tech, and Air Craft Sheet Metal School in Wichita, KS.

He served in the Army Air Corp during WW II and worked for Fairview Chrysler Plymouth for over 55 years as head of the service department. Paul was a dedicated member of Holy Cross Church, where he volunteered and helped on many committees. He was a life member of the Fairview Fire Department for over 65 years, and was a member of the Fairview American Legion, Post 740 for 69 years. He loved automobiles and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife Ruth Duberow, a brother Bernard Duberow, and a sister Rita Sajewski.

He is survived by his wife Roberta F. “Bobbie” Duberow, two sons: Donald H. Duberow and David P. Duberow and his wife Joan, both of Fairview; a daughter Deborah J. Duberow of Navato, CA; a step daughter Tammy J. Podpora and her husband Ed of Peyton, CO; a step son Michael Lewis and his wife Jackie of Kansas; a sister Betty Smith of Erie; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. Girard on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8pm. The Fairview Fire and Rescue will hold a Fireman’s Prayer service at 7pm. A mass of Christian Burial held on Friday at Holy Cross Church at 10 a.m. with Fr. Thomas Tyler officiating, military honors will immediately follow. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery at a later date.
