Paul H. Christenson, 88, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and formerly of Erie, PA, died Friday, February 6, 2015, at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center. He was born March 9, 1926, in Erie, son of the late Hilding and Ellen Forsberg Christenson. A longtime resident of Erie, he graduated from Academy High School in 1944 and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WW II. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University and was licensed as a professional engineer in Pennsylvania. He worked for Erie Technological Products for 27 years where he served as Vice President of Operations and most recently for Philips Components in Jupiter, Florida, where he served as Vice President and Technical Director, retiring in 1991 after 14 years.
Mr. Christenson was an avid golfer belonging to the PGA National Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens, FL and formerly belonged to Lake Shore Country Club in Erie. He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Tyrian Lodge No. 362 F.& A.M., and Zem Zem Temple, and was a former member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Erie. He attended Jupiter First Church, Jupiter, FL.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Edith S. Sandstrom Christenson; a daughter, Jane C. Joy and husband Ralph of Sewickley, PA; three sisters-in-law, Helen Bellingham and Betty Webb of Erie and Alice Christenson of Birmingham, AL; and several nieces and nephews.
A sister, Betty E. Roth and a brother, Arnold P. Christenson preceded him in death.
A celebration of life service will be conducted on a future date to be announced. Private inurnment in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street, Erie.
