Patton Russell Annegan, 76, beloved husband of 51 years, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on October 4, 2024. He fought a long, difficult battle with cancer and the aftereffects of this treatment.
Patton was born in Clearfield County on April 17, 1948. Patton was the son of Frank and Vadna Annegan. He spent his childhood years in Grampian, PA. His family relocated to Mill Hall, PA (Clinton Co). Patton graduated from Bald Eagle Nittany High School, class of 1966. He attended IUP University, Lock Haven University, and graduated from Edinboro University with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree.
Patton married Siri Kessinger on March 31, 1973. Together they raised 3 children, residing in Carlisle, Loganton, and ultimately Fairview, PA for 38 years.
Patton was known for his sense of humor and his kind demeanor. He was a history buff, and he delighted in sharing trivia. He would share information that seemed so ridiculous, but much of the time, it turned out to be factual. He loved to sing songs and change the words to be silly. His grandchildren loved his redo of “You’re in the Jailhouse Now!” He introduced his grandchildren to the Beatles. They enjoyed singing “We All Live in a Yellow Submarine.” He dedicated his version of Lloyd Price’s “She’s Got Personality” to his granddaughter, Catherine. Pat looked forward to traveling to Pittsburgh and Charlotte to watch his grandchildren to participate in hockey, gymnastics, soccer, softball, baseball, and dance. Pat’s passions were old movies (TMC was a favorite channel), sports, and coaching. He was an avid fan of Penn State football and wrestling, the Steelers, and the Pirates. The best years of his life were when he coached F.L.A.G. and Legion baseball during the years in which his own sons played baseball. He was a positive role model and made a positive impact on the youth in the Fairview and Girard communities. He was a fun grandfather who was known as “Grandad” to the oldest grandchild, “YaYa” to the oldest granddaughter, and “Pop” to all the other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Patton was preceded in death by his father Frank Annegan (1965), mother, Vadna Annegan (2002), sister Darla Woodel (2022), and brother Michael Annegan (2020).
Patton is survived by his daughter Amy Arce Rivera (Jorge William) of Fairview, sons Matthew Annegan (Heather) of Pittsburgh and Ryan Annegan (Jessica) of Charlotte, NC.
Pat will be missed by his 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren: Anthony Maldonado, Catherine Arce, Monte Annegan, Kayla Annegan, Griffin Annegan, Jane Annegan, Thomas Annegan, and Jack Annegan, Alivia Maldonado, and Anderson Maldonado. Patton is also survived by his son Dennis Probst (Kristen) of Renova and their children Adam Probst, Jane Probst Swain, Jacob T. Probst, Aaron Probst, Adelle Leiter, and Jacob Leiter, and 7 grandchildren.
