Patricia Kishel Wilczynski, age 85, of Erie passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at UPMC Hamot surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Erie on March 2, 1932 the daughter of the late Anthony and Ruth McCallion Kishel.
Patricia was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School and had worked as a physical therapist’s aide at LEIR. She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church where she served as a greeter and belonged to their Ladies Guild. She was a member of Cursillo 206 and she also enjoyed playing the game of bocce with her neighbors in the “Meadows.” Patricia loved to follow the activities of her grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren and was known to join them at times in playing various games and sports.
March 17th, St. Patrick’s Day, was a very special day to Patricia and her late husband, Joseph, because 68 years ago it was the day of their first date.
Besides her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband Joseph J. Wilczynski who died in 2011 and also by her beloved dog and companion, O’Niell.
She is survived by her three children; Maureen Totleben and her husband Mark of Indianapolis, IN; Patrick Wilczynski and his wife Teresa, and Bridget Hines, all of Erie. She is the sister of James Kishel and his wife Betty, and Donna Mae Kishel, all of Erie. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends are invited to call at the John J. Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th & Liberty St. on Tuesday from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM and are invited to attend Prayer Services there Wednesday at 11:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 12 noon in St. Andrew Catholic Church.
