Patricia “Pat” Wienczkowski, age 77, of Millcreek, died peacefully at home on February 13, 2019.
She was born in Erie, PA on September 20, 1941 daughter of the late Lawrence and Rhona Kenny Case. Patricia grew up in North East, Pennsylvania and went to St. Gregory High School. Prior to graduating from high school in 1959, she was very active in the school Choral group, and Choir. Pat was a member of the Sodality Club and served as Vice President during her Senior Year. During her four years in High School, Pat was also very active in Varsity basketball, Forensic Club and was a member of the yearbook staff her senior year.
Pat was married to William J. Moski and they had two daughters. Pat was remarried in 1975 to Edward “Corky” J. Wienczkowski.
She was a receptionist for Father Grohe and worked at Casey’s Meat Market in Erie on Raspberry Street. She modeled for a jewelry company. She also worked at Erie Insurance and was employed with Terry’s IGA on Buffalo Road and Super Duper East and West. Pat had her own business providing samples to clients of Meadowbrook, Troyer Farms, Smithfield and Smith’s Provision. This led to a job in sales marketing for Smith Provision for many years.
Pat belonged to the Elk’s Club in New York and was a member of Commodore Perry Yacht Club where she and Corky enjoyed boating for many years. They also enjoyed bowling and traveling.
In addition to her parents and her second husband, Pat was preceded in death by a son Paul Joseph Moski, three brothers Byron “Butch” Case, Raymond Case and James Case and two sisters Rhona Case Brown and Jean Case.
She is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Christine A. Taylor Moski, Lisa J. Nichols and Carrie Behnke and her husband Ken, six grandchildren, Ashley and Andrew Stafford, Courtney Benke, and Brendan, Jacqueline and Dalton Nichols (who she was known as Grandma “mugga” too,) and four great-grandchildren, Izabella and Chase Behnke and Averie and Brewer Stafford.
She cherished every moment with all of her nieces and nephews and their families and was always happy to hear form her cousins in Florida and Las Vegas.
Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street, (at Powell Avenue,) on Sunday, February 17, 2019 from 1 p.m. until the time of service there at 3 p.m.
Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
