Patricia A. Markowitz age 76, of Millcreek, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at her residence.
She was born in Erie on June 11, 1947, a daughter of the late Allen and Genevieve Burns Carey.
She was a 1965 East High School graduate and enjoyed helping to plan many of their class reunions. Pat was married to her husband Jim Markowitz for 56 years and raised two children, Mary Pat and James in Erie. She worked at Erie Bronze and Aluminum in Customer Service for 20 years.
Patricia was a voracious reader, both fiction and non-fiction. She enjoyed watching Jeopardy each night, impressing everyone with her broad knowledge of many subjects. She was very interested in her Irish heritage and helped her cousin Rose research their family tree. Her greatest joy was spending time with her four grandchildren, watching them play sports and music, teaching them about their family history and giving them love like only a Grannie can.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her cousin and guardian Rose Kelley.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Markowitz, her children Mary Pat (and Shawn) Werley of West Chester, PA and James (and Erika) Markowitz of Erie, PA; her grandchildren Evan and Carey Werley and Natalie and Derek Markowitz.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family by the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, West Ridge 3801 W. 26th Street.
