Patricia Ann Gray, age 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at LECOM at Elmwood Gardens. She was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on August 26, 1934, the daughter of the late Edward and Virginia (Solecki) Przepierski.
Pat was a graduate of St. Benedict Academy and St. Vincent School of Nursing. She was proud to be an ER nurse for many years and to then become a Poison Control nurse, involving her more in the community. In high school, Pat met her husband of 67 years, Thomas Gray. Pat and Tom enjoyed an adventurous life together filled with travel, their favorite music, socials with friends, never forgetting an anniversary and very comfortably taking on the role of the fun and loving parents and grandparents.
Pat was a caring mother and loving wife, and her role as “grandma,” “grams,” and “nana” was a gift she never fell short of celebrating. Hosting family holiday parties with Tom, Pat prepared family favorites including pierogies, ham, peanut butter blossom cookies, and cranberry salad for the holidays. Pat always had a grandchild nearby while watching her favorite Soap Operas and Game Shows. She was a stylish lady, who loved sharing her fashion sense with her daughters and granddaughters. Getting her nails and hair done were activities she looked forward to even as her condition progressed. Pat was the excited grandma at her grandchildren’s dancing recitals & sport activities and a dedicated Steelers fan. Every spring, Pat enjoyed planting flowers and vegetables in her garden, Pat loved chatting on the phone with friends and her family. She looked forward to family gatherings and trips, especially tropical cruises with friends and beach trips with family. Pat stayed sharp, never forgetting her appointments, sharing medical knowledge, and enjoying daily crossword puzzles for as long as she could. Pat will be remembered for all these things, but most definitely for her sense of humor. She was known to giggle and joke quite often. Pat lived a full life and always found a way to enjoy herself. She will be deeply missed.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Thomas Gray; her daughter, Susan Mary Gray; her daughter-in-law Ruth Mary Gray; and twin sister who passed shortly after birth.
Pat is survived by her children; Thomas Gray (Tina), Carolyn Colicchio (John) & James Gray (Laurie) and grandchildren; Andrew Gray (Rachel), Daniel Gray (Lisa), Maggie Warren (Riley, nicknamed Rider by Pat), Julian Colicchio, Collette Gordon, and Christian Gordon. Also surviving are 3 great-grandchildren, Odric, Eden, and Elsie Gray.
Pat’s family would like to thank the staff at Elmwood Gardens & Aseracare Hospice for their care and concern for Pat, especially Tommy and Debbie, her favorite nursing aides. We are forever grateful to all of you!
