Patricia Engelleiter

Patricia M. Engelleiter, age 84, of Erie, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Pleasant Ridge East.

Born in Beaver Falls, PA, on March 17, 1930, the daughter of the late Raymond and Agnes Nelson Woolslayer.

Despite losing her sight at age twenty, Patricia overcame a lot of obstacles during her lifetime. She attended Behrend College as a psychology major. In her younger years, she participated in many beauty pageants and was employed at Gannon College as a switchboard operator. She attended Glennwood United Methodist Church and was a member of the Esther Guild. Patricia also enjoyed spending time at Presque Isle, listening to her daughter Val sing, sewing and she loved to talk with people on the phone. Patricia also had a very wonderful sense of humor.

In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husband Maury in 1994; two brothers, George and Edmund Woolslayer.

Patricia is survived by her daughter, Valerie Engelleiter; two nephews, Eric and Raymond Woolslayer.

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 W. 26th St. (at Powell Ave.), on Friday, June 20th from 2 to 5 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there at the funeral home’s All Faith’s Chapel at 5:00 p.m. with Reverend Patrick Lenox officiating. Burial will be private at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
