Patricia Burgess

Patricia Ann “Patti” Burgess, age 86, of Millcreek, passed away Thursday June 12, 2014 at UPMC Hamot.

She was born in Erie on November 25, 1927, the daughter of the late William and Sara Lavery McFadden.

She was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School, class of 1946 and following graduation worked for General Telephone Company. She was very faithful and was an early member of St. Jude the Apostle Church and then became a member of Our Lady of Peace Church. She was a long time member of the Moose Club Auxiliary.

She then became a homemaker who loved caring for her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She liked to play cards, read and was very active in planning her high school reunions.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years Terry Burgess; three sisters, Lillian Gorr, Betty Smith and Katherine Sieb; two brothers, Linus McFadden and William McFadden, Jr.

She is survived by two daughters, Christine Mosier of North East, PA, and Tammie Mang and her husband Deacon John of Erie, PA; one son Rick Burgess and his wife Sally of Fairview, PA; four grandchildren, Bill Burgess and his wife Stephanie of Raleigh, NC, Stephanie Burgess of Raleigh, NC, Erin Perry and her husband Jon of Polka, WV, and Kaitlyn Mang of Erie. She is further survived by three great-grandchildren, Jacob Burgess, Liam Perry and Abigail Perry and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6to 8 pm. and are invited to a prayer service there on Tues. at 9:45 am.

A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Peace Church at 2401 W 38th St, Erie, PA 16506.

Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
