Patricia Brown

Patricia Mary Murray Brown (Pat), 87, of Millcreek died peacefully December 8, 2022 surrounded by her family in the comfort of her home.

 Patricia was born in Erie, on August 15, 1935, the daughter of the late John and Ruth (Heinlein) Murray.

 She graduated from Strong Vincent High School and earned a scholarship to attend Villa Maria College graduating in 1957 with a BS in Business Education. She then taught at Wesleyville High School until she married Charles Lloyd Brown Jr. (“Chuck/Charlie”) Together they raised five daughters and one son. She continued her education earning her MBA from Gannon University in 1984 and also earned a Financial Planning Certificate from Mercyhurst College in 1996.

 She was a lifelong member of Blessed Sacrament Church attending in the very beginning when service was held in a tent. She served several years as a Lector at Mass. Her very first job was at the Strand Theater where her love of movies was sparked. Patricia worked as a Financial Analyst and was Manager of Field Financial Control at American Sterilizer/Steris Company retiring in 1995 after 16 years of service.

 Pat and Chuck enjoyed traveling. Their first big trip was in 1976 when they rented a motorhome, piled the 6 kids in and spent a month touring western United States. They took several more trips to the Northwest and Southwest of our country. Their travels also took them to the Hawaiian Islands, Alaska, Canadian Northwest, England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland. They wintered for many years in Kissimmee, Florida. They loved camping and sharing Letchworth State Park in New York with their children and grandchildren.

 Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Jacqueline L. Peterson, granddaughter Olivia Zafiropoulos, son in law John Honecker, and grandson Jake Honecker.

 Family left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 65 years, Charlie; her daughter Julie Brown, her husband Jim, and grandson Justin of Bradenton, FL; daughter Elaine Baldwin, her husband Cliff of Mount Holly, NC, and granddaughters Laura and Catherine; daughter Suzanne Fletcher Honecker of Erie PA, grandsons Joseph, Daniel and James and granddaughters Theresa and Jennifer; daughter Elizabeth Zafiropoulos, and her husband Andreas, of McKean PA and grandson Andreas Nickolaos; daughter Colleen Thomas, and her husband John of Concord, NC; and son Charles Lloyd III of Bairdford, PA, and granddaughters Kendall and Camryn; 11 great grandchildren: Rory, Taylor, McKenzie, Kenadie, Jackson, Madison, Isabelle, Dylan, Preston, Parker, and Isaac; 4 nieces and nephews: Valerie, Erik, Kirk, and Scott. Pat's family would like to give special thanks to Wendy, Kalie, Tammy, and Sharon for their compassionate care and support.

The family is also grateful to Kate, Dawn and the team at Visiting Nurses Association.

Friends may call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, West, Ridge 3801 W. 26th Street on Sunday, December 11th from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Monday, December 12th from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Burial to follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
