Orinda Pulice

March 12, 1935 — July 24, 2022

Orinda Leo Pulice, age 87, of Millcreek, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 24, 2022.

She was born in Erie, PA on March 12, 1935, a daughter of the late Evaristo and Rosina (Amendola) Leo.

She was a 1953 graduate of East High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society and Captain of the Twirlers.  She graduated from Carnegie Institute of Cleveland as a Medical Assistant and was also a C.N.A.  She worked in the medical health field for many years.  Orinda was a three time Breast Cancer Survivor.      

She married Donald Pulice in 1955. They had six children: she is survived by t wo daughters and three sons, Michele Pulice, Danelle Pulice Stone and husband David, Dana Pulice and wife Barbara, all of Erie, Michael Pulice and wife Tammi of New Port Richey, FL, Donald Pulice Jr. (Cyndi) of St . Petersburg, FL and a son-in-law, Robert Malyuk of Erie. She is further survived by eight grandchildren, Nicoletta and JC Cherry, Joshua Stone, Karli Pulice, Kelsie, Mia Rose and Nicholas Pulice and Julie Iye and her husband Gufran Gungor, a sister-in-law, Kathryn Santangelo of Ohio, and many nieces and nephews. 

Orinda was preceded in death by her husband Donald Pulice, a beloved daughter, Melanie Pulice Malyuk, her three brothers Dr. Orlando Leo and wife Martha, Arthur Leo and Edward Leo and wife Rita, and a brother-in-law John Pulice and his wife Peggy.

She was a long time member of Our Lady of Peace Church, where she was a Eucharistic Minister and sang in the Resurrection Choir.  She was a dedicated volunteer at The Regional Cancer Center for 25 years since 1990.  Orinda and her husband Donald spent their winters at their home in Dunedin, Florida.

The family would like to thank her wonderful caregivers Vicki Gorniak, Kaile Peterson, Denise Brown, Anne Coursey and LECOM VNA Hospice, especially Kate, Tracy, Dawn, Karen, Amber and Amanda.

Friends may call on the family at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, West Ridge, 3801 West 26th Street, on Thursday July 28, 2022 from 2:00 pm-8:00 pm and are invited to a mass of Christian burial on Friday at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 2401 West 38th St.  at 10:00 am with celebrants Rev. Michael DeMartinis and Rev. Richard Toohey. The service will be live streamed at Our Lady of Peace Youtube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdS696JU5ISTNIhIhPoErxQ.  Burial to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.  

Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Peace School, 2401 W 38th St, Erie, PA 16506.
