Ora Marsh

Mother Ora L. Marsh, age 75 of Erie, died Friday, April 17, 2015 at St. Mary’s East.

She was born in Meridian, MS on February 24, 1940, daughter of the late Nathaniel and Lenortha Twillie Spencer.

Ora received her education in the Meridian Public School System, and attended Gannon University.

She worked for the Erie County Board of Assistance.

Ora was a member of the Mothers’ Board at Antioch Baptist Church, Elks Lodge #328, and Order of the Eastern Star, and she was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. She was a former member of the Sunlight Baptist Church in Meridian, MS.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ellorace Spencer and William (Billy Boy)Morris Spencer, one sister Cora Mae Grace, mother-in-law Carrie Marsh, and her little Yorkshire Terrier, “Diamond”.

Survivors include her husband David Marsh, daughter Patricia Hall and her husband “Ronnie” of Erie, a granddaughter “Sonja” Tate and her husband Adam of Erie; niece Mary McCarty, two sisters: Frances Johnson and Dorothy Baskin (“A.J.”) all of Meridian, MS; and great grandchildren Shanay, Shavell, Shavon, and Shalee Spencer, along with three great great grandchildren. Ora is also survived by seven step children, 13 step grandchildren, and a host of step great great grandchildren.

Friends may call at Antioch Baptist Church, on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend services there on Friday at 11 a.m. with Reverend Dr. Wayne Williams officiating. Memorials may be made to Antioch Baptist Church, 160 West 20th Street Erie, PA 16502.
