Olyn William “Corky” King, age 85, of Millcreek, passed away Tuesday July 12, 2016 at Fairview Manor.
He was born on October 8, 1930, in North East, PA, a son of the late Lester W. and Wilda (Reid) King. He was a 1948 graduate of Harbor Creek High School, attended General Electric Technical Night School for 5 years and was employed at General Electric for 31 years, retiring in 1993.
He served in the United States Air Force from 1950-1954.
He was a charter member of the Church of the Cross and Koinonia of Erie County. Corky enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood working, carving and reading his Bible each day.
In addition to his parents, Corky was preceded in death by two sisters, Juanita Zierenberg and Jean Little.
Corky is survived by his wife of 36 years, Ruth Malena King, whom he married in 1980; three daughters, Dawn Kaliszewski and her husband Tom, Kathryn (King) Deist, and Tiffany Budzynski; five grandchildren Tom Jr. (Lisa) Kaliszewski, Nick (Andrea) Kaliszewski, Erika (Bo) Pryor, Ethan Budzynski, and Jacob Budzynski,; five great-grandchildren, Jackson, Andrew and Mya Rose Kaliszewski, Charlotte and Gavin Pryor; and one sister, Norma Zierenberg.
Friends are invited to call on Friday from 2:00 until the time of the Memorial Service at 4:00pm at the Church of the Cross 5901 Millfair Road Fairview PA 16415 with Rev. James Rimmer and Rev. James Moelk officiating. Full Military Honors will follow.
Burial will be private in Laurel Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Church of the Cross.
