Ollive Phillips

     Ollive Ruth Hanna Phillips, 93, of Meadville and formerly of East 5th St., Erie, was called to glory on Monday, January 26, 2015, at Crawford County Care Center. She was the youngest of ten children born April 26, 1921, in Lawrence Park, PA to the late Archie M. and Stella May Milholland Hanna. She was a 1939 graduate of McKean High School where she lettered in basketball and played volleyball.  She worked for Erie Resistor, which later became Erie Technological Products, for 25 years retiring in 1977.  She had previously worked at the Boston store as a clerk in Toyland.  Ollive was a member of the Salvation Army The Erie Temple Corps where she was a Sunday School and Corps Cadet teacher, avid volunteer in League of Mercy, Home League, and Kettles, and she often did the tavern route. 
     She was welcomed home by her husband, William F. Phillips, Sr. and her daughter, Ruth Marie Nagare, and five sisters and four brothers.
She loved having her family around her. She also loved gardening, playing games with family, doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles, sewing, crocheting, and baking pies with her husband.
     She left behind four children, Stella May Starn and husband William of Meadville, and Kathie June Farrington and husband Dave and Patricia A. Savoia and husband Chris, all of Cambridge Springs; a son, William F. Phillips, Jr. of Erie; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
     Friends may call Friday 2 to 7 p.m. at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street, and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. at Salvation Army Temple Corps, 1022 Liberty Street.  The Major Leslie Walter will officiate.  Burial will be at Valley Cemetery, Summit Twp.
