Olga Loundes passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023 surrounded by her daughters.
She was born in Birmingham England to the late Harold and Irene Edge Southall.
Olga lived a life of philanthropy. She knitted scarves for sailors and ran an annual Christmas Souper Sleigh Food Drive. She was a benefactor for Operation Smile, Africa 6000, SafeNet, Second Harvest Food Bank and created Back to School Backpacks for children in need. She had an engaging smile that all will remember.
She was a longstanding member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, where she sang soprano in the choir for over 30 years. Olga loved to travel, read, and work in her flower gardens. She loved knitting and was a master seamstress. She enjoyed hosting parties and baking. She was a former board member of ICM, Marketing Director for Griswold Special Care, a secretary to Rev. Bishop Donald J. Davis, Parish secretary and office manager for St. Marks.
Survivors include her daughters Rachel (David) Hughes of McKean; Mary-Beth (Jeffrey) Cardo of North Carolina; Angela (James) Michie of Hong Kong; grandchildren that she adored Alice, Emily, Gabriel, Elizabeth, Alexis, Meagan, Nara, Jonah and Pippa; and her sister Linda Ferris.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years Michael Loundes.
Friends may call at the Burton Quinn Scott West Ridge 3801 West 26th Street (at Powell Ave.) on Thursday January 12, 2023 from 4-7 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 12 noon at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church 4701 Old French Rd, Erie, PA 16509.
