Okley “Kirk” McDonald, age 69 of North East, died Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Select Specialty Hospital following an extended illness.
He was born March 22, 1946 in Olean, NY, a son of the late Okley Cecil and Emma Jane White McDonald.
Okley served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam.
He worked with various trucking companies, in security, and he was also a barber.
Okley was a jack of many trades, and loved country living. He was a wonderful storyteller.
He was a member of the VFW Post 105 of North East and the American Legion.
In addition to his parents, Okley was preceded in death by his wife Lynette “Lynn” McDonald in 2013, his daughter Kathy Distrola of Bradford, in September, 2013, his sister Susan Fredericks, and his brother Jack.
Survivors include his son Michael McDonald (Shannon), Frank Gant (Kim), Rick Gant (Colleen), 13 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; sisters Sandy Sommers and Sylvia Goodwin.
Friends may call at the Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Road on Wednesday from 5 pm until 7 pm.
