Norman R. Shor age 64 of Erie, died peacefully after a long illness at Pleasant Ridge Manor West on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 due to complications from early onset Alzheimer's disease.
He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on October 26, 1948 the youngest son of Martin and the late Ethel Ziff Shor. In 1966 he graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School. He graduated from Edinboro University of PA with a BA degree in history and political science.
For many years he was heard as Pat O'Day on local radio stations WRIE AM, K-104, and WJET AM as well as several stations in Pittsburgh, West Virginia and Iowa. He loved science fiction, day trips and long distance listening known as DXing.
In addition to his devoted wife, Karen (nee Halperin), he is survived by his father and his brothers, Francis and Barbara (nee Logan) Shor of Royal Oak, MI and Michael and Amanda (nee Reeder) Halperin of Southborough, MA and sister Amy Halperin. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be held in Pittsburgh at the convenience of the family.
