Norman W. Sage, age 89, of Ashtabula, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 3, 2019 at his residence.
He was born in West Hickory, PA on November 6, 1929, the son of the late Wesley and Elizabeth J. Allio Sage.
After graduating from high school, Norman enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. Norman had worked many years at Elkem Metals Company and retired from there. “Uncle Norm” as he was known to all, enjoyed the outdoors, attending auctions, cooking for and spending time with his many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty J. Little Sage of Beaver Falls PA in 1986. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Thomas Sage, Roland Sage, James Sage and one sister Artis Kerns.
Norman is survived by his close niece Lorna Bennett (Steve) of Conneaut, OH, nephew Randy Sage (Terry) of Girard PA, and sister in law Wendolyn Sage of Conneaut. He is further survived by his brother Richard Sage of Conneaut, and his sister Bonnie Wells of Oil City, PA. Also like family to him were special friends Dixie Hamilton of and her daughter Anne Bryan (Curt) of Geneva OH. Anne’s children Isaac and Alexis Northrup were like grandchildren to Norman as well. His kind demeanor and friendly way towards everyone will be sorely missed.
Funeral services were private and held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to Burton Funeral Home, Girard.
