Newton T. Porter

Newton T. Porter, age 68 of Girard, PA, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024 at UPMC Hamot following a brief illness.

He was born on January 7, 1956, the son of the late Newton Vanwormer and Florence Stover.  He worked at Waste Management for many years.

Newton enjoyed building models, working on vehicles, painting and listening to music all the time.  He liked old cars and motorcyles and loved sitting outside on the patio, watching TV and movies enjoying his nacho cheese Doritos.  He loved spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Dave Stover and Chuck Porter; and his sister, Virgina Vanwormer.

He is survived by his daughter, Florence Porter (Matthew Kelly) of Girard; his grandchildren, Brittney Taylor of Oil City and Madison Borowski of Girard; his great grandchildren, Adalynn, Brelee and Elanor Taylor; his sisters, Diane Krupitzer and Pat Voorhies; his brothers, Frank Stover, Bob Porter, Jack Porter, Fred Porter and Duke Vanwormer; his half sister, Lee Cook and several nieces and nephews. 

Arrangements were entrusted to the Burton Funeral Home, Girard.
