Nancy Esther (Sell) Schwindt , born in Erie, PA on Sept 21, 1947, passed away suddenly on January 15,2023 at the age of 75. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by her sudden death. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 25 years, David L. Schwindt, whose loss left her with a broken heart, her parents Harry Sell Sr. and Constance (Gigliotti) Sell, and loving sister Carol Sivillo (Sell) and son-in-law Joseph O’Hara. She is survived by her four children, Stephanie Hess O’Hara of Harborcreek, Dana Kosack (Amanda) of Erie, Daniel Signani & Matthew Bazar of Los Angeles and Scott Kosack of Erie; her brother Dr. Harry W. Sell Jr and Amy Sell of Pittsburgh; her sister Kathy Kinross (Sell) & Steve Kinross of Erie, and four grandchildren; Jessica Hess, Mikayla Hess, Andrew Kosack and Giada Kosack in addition to her bonus grandchildren Nick, Bella, Mia, Landyn, Mylie, Lina, Marin and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Nancy graduated from Academy High School in 1965 and was a member of La Nuova Aurora Society of Erie, the Siebenbuerger Club and Elevate Church.
Nancy loved spending time with her children and grandchildren on special occasions, and especially for the holidays - certain to make her Italian wedding soup, lasagna, pizzelles & Italian knots that were cherished by everyone. Nancy enjoyed adventurous weekends at Family Affair campground with her kids and playing a competitive game of Left, Right, Center. Anyone who knew Nancy remembers the purple or pink streak in her hair, her feisty yearning for youth and her exquisite style. Her kids knew that when they got together and planned an evening out, Mom was certain to join in on the fun. Nancy loved hanging with the kids.
There are no words that can express how grateful and blessed we are to the many family and friends who have reached out to all of us. The sentiments we’ve received have been heartwarming to say the least. We are so comforted knowing how much she meant to everyone who knew her. We are so blessed to call her Mom.
