Nancy English Schnars, 69, of Erie, died on Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at Millcreek Community Hospital. She was born on August 6, 1948, in Erie, Pa., daughter of the late Willis George "Pete" and Ruth F. Karl English. A 1967 graduate of Strong Vincent High School, she worked as a baker for the Millcreek School District for 18 years and had also worked at General Electric. Nancy was an avid bowler and was a member of First Alliance Church, Siebenbuerger Ladies Auxiliary and the Erie Guild of Craftsmen.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Deborah Grise.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Ivan J. Schnars; a daughter, Tammie Larsen and husband Dan of Angier, NC; a son, Ivan Karl Schnars and wife Lisa of Erie; a sister, Cindy Anderson of Orange Park, FL; three grandchildren, Destinee and Hunter Larsen of Angier, NC and Rachel Schnars of Erie; a brother-in-law, Robert Grise of Erie; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street, Monday from 3 to 7 p.m. and are invited to services there Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Joshua Brainard of First Alliance Church officiating. Burial will be at Erie County Memorial Gardens.
