Nancy Ruth Rubner, age 86, of Millcreek, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at the Sarah A. Reed Retirement Center.
She was born in Erie, Pa. on July 27, 1929 daughter of the late Kenneth and Ruth Fidler Stillwell.
She was a graduate of Academy High School and worked for thirty five years as a crossing guard for the Millcreek School District. Nancy was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she and her husband Elmer attended for many years. Along with Elmer she enjoyed square dancing and traveling. She was involved for a time with Eastern Star and in later years enjoyed cross stitch and ceramics.
In addition to her parents and spouse Elmer, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Robert Pettit and a brother, Kenneth Stillwell.
Nancy is survived by two daughters; Karen Pettit and Linda Drysdale both of Mesa, AZ. along with five grandchildren; Stefanie, Robert, Sandy, Michelle and Beth. 13 great grandchildren also remain.
Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 West 26th Street (at Powell Ave.) on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm and are invited to a service there on Saturday at 11:00 am.
Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
