Nancy Klebes

Nancy Jean Zimmer Klebes went home to her Lord and Savior Saturday, March 8, 2014 after a brave battle with cancer.

Born in Erie on May 19, 1947 to Audrey Hetherington Zimmer and the late Bernard P. Zimmer.

Nancy graduated from McDowell High School, after which she began her 40 plus year employment at AMSCO/ Steris, retiring as a Senior Master Planner.

Nancy was known for her warm smile and unmistakable laugh. She loved to spend time with her family, cook, read, garden and to serve at the West Millcreek Food Pantry.

She was a member of Erie Elks Lodge 67, and a lifetime member of the Knights of St. John.

In addition to her father, Nancy is preceded in death by a brother Gary (Tubby).

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Harold (Hal) Klebes; brothers, Barry (Nancy), Keith (Susan), daughter, Jennifer Smith, son Gregory Smith (Rachel), daughter, Melissa French (Mark); granddaughters, Ashley and Aubrey and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W. 26th Street (at Powell Ave) on Monday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. John Dyke officiating.
