Nancy Gausman

February 18, 1949 — May 25, 2014

Nancy E. Gausman, age 64, of Millcreek, died on Sunday May 25, 2014 at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Erie, on June 18, 1949, a daughter of the late John and Sarah Marsh Cooney.

Nancy graduated from Strong Vincent High School, Class of 1967. In addition to being a GE telephone operator, she was also a Rural Mail Carrier for the US Post Office. Her most important job was that of wife and mother.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant where she served as Deacon, Elder, Sunday School Teacher, and Jr. High Youth Club Leader. She also participated in the Death, Dying, and Bereavement Committee, Koinonia 2 and Cursillo 19. She was a faithful person who had a generous and joyful spirit and a giving soul. She devoted herself to any activity which she was involved.

The family would like to thank Regional Hospice for their tender loving care this past month.

She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Richard C. Gausman; a son Richard T. Gausman; a daughter Michelle D. Gausman; and a grandson Kristian Gausman all of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She is further survived by three sisters, Kathleen Matz of Mentor, OH, Marlene (Richard) Fratus of Tyler, TX , and Patti (L J) Palmer of Denver, PA, and many dear friends.

Friends are invited to call on the family on Wednesday May 28th from 10am until the time of the service at 12 Noon, at First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, McBrier Chapel, 250 W. 7th Street, Erie, PA 16501. Arrangements entrusted to Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.
