Nancy Bowers

     Nancy L. Bowers, 82, formerly of Highpoint Towers, Erie, and Girard, died Friday, April 3, 2015, at Pleasant Ridge Manor East.  She was born February 20, 1933, in Erie, daughter of the late Joseph M. and Marjorie L. Blair Bowers.  She was a 1951 graduate of Rice Avenue Union High School in Girard, Pa., and graduated in 1952 as a Licensed Practical Nurse from Erie Infants Home and Hospital.  She was an LPN working as a child care technician for St. Vincent Health Center, retiring in 1995 after 34 years.  Nancy was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, volunteered at Erie Center on Health and Aging and at the Village at Luther Square, was active with Koinonia of Erie County K-124, and enjoyed sewing, doing cross stitch and reading.
     Survivors include a brother, Boyd C. Bowers and wife Joyce of Locust Grove, VA, two nieces, two nephews, and many cousins including James R. Steadman of Girard, Pa. and Lore Blair of Erie.
     Friends may call Thursday 3 to 7 p.m. at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street, and are invited to services there Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Melissa I. Geisler of Trinity United Methodist Church officiating.  Burial will be at Girard Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 3952 Pine Avenue, Erie, PA 16504.
