Myrtle Haynes Kilpatrick, age 86, of Girard, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2018, at Pleasant Ridge Manor.
She was born February 18, 1932 in Olean, NY, a daughter of the late Elice B. and Arvilla Cox Haynes.
She was a 1950 graduate of Olean High School. Myrtle had been employed as a secretary-receptionist at the Cosmopolite Herald, the Girard Methodist Church and the Girard Telephone Office. She was a member of Girard Alliance Church and enjoyed reading and playing the piano.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Kilpatrick in 2007 and her sister, Rosemarie Homes in 2017.
Myrtle is survived by her son David Kilpatrick and his wife Deborah, North Carolina; two daughters, Cheryl Battista and her husband James, Warren, PA, and Diane Taylor and her husband Charles, Lake City, PA; three grandsons, Zachery Taylor and his wife Jenni and Joshua Taylor and his wife Sarah and Christopher Van Riper and his wife Lisa; two great grandchildren, Amelia and Harrison Van Riper; two sisters, Katherine J. Piontec and Sue Haynes; seven brothers: Elice, Chester, Charles, Thomas, Jack, Robert, David Haynes and Paul Haynes; and several nieces and nephews, all of Washington State.
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East, Girard, today,
Tuesday September 11th from 4 to 8 pm and are invited to attend a service at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10 am with Pastor Lamech Marsh officiating. Burial in Girard Cemetery.
