Miriam Mcleod

Miriam H. “Mim” McLeod, age 93, of York, PA and formerly of Erie, died on Monday, February 1, 2016.
Miriam was born in Erie on June 21, 1922, a daughter of the late Erwin and Theresa Brunner Voss.

Mim graduated from Academy High School, Class of 1940. She and her husband Malcolm moved to California for his employment with AMSCO. While in California for 41 years, she worked at the telephone company and Macy’s. She was also a volunteer at the hospital and was a member of the International Order of Rainbow for Girls where she was a Worthy Advisor.

Upon Malcolm’s retirement, they returned to Erie. She was a member of Luther Memorial Church and Wayside Presbyterian. She loved her German shepherds and her cat.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Malcolm R. McLeod who died on May 22, 1998, a sister Ervina Deitz, and a brother Howard Voss.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 602 West 10th Street on Saturday April 23rd from 10:30 am until the time of service at 11am. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, 1645 W. 8th St., Erie, PA 16505 or the Regional Cancer Center, 2500 West 12th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
