Our beloved Minnie Mae Johnson Knight departed this life on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at Sarah Reed Nursing Home.
She was a devoted wife and loving mother with a beautiful spirit. She was the best listener, encourager, and would not hold back on providing one with the truth when needed. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, cooking, and most of all just being with her family. She accepted Christ in her life at an early age which defined her strength and integrity as a phenomenal woman.
Minnie was born on March 5, 1935 in Houston, MS to the late Pearlie Mae Gardner Johnson and William T. Johnson, Sr.
Minnie united in holy matrimony with her best friend, Ezell “Chip” Knight on Christmas Day, 1952 in which their love withstood the trials of this world until his departure of life.
In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by her son Gregory Knight, infant twins Patrick, and Patricia. Her siblings; William T. Johnson Jr. and Fannie Lee Atkinson, sister In-law(s) Ollie Lee Johnson, and Jeraldine Knight, and brother-in-law Cleo Knight.
Minnie leaves behind many who will continue to cherish her memory; sons Wiley Ray Gist of Detroit, MI, Ronnie Knight (Edna), Marlon Knight (Deborah), and Steven Knight (Tina) of Erie Pa. Daughters Barb Luvine (George), Joann Knight, Tina Aiken (David), and Sharon Knight of Erie Pa, Brenda Knight Moses (Hayes) of Cleveland, OH. A granddaughter she raised, Veronica Knight Howze (Greg) Jacksonville, FL. In addition to 33 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family of Minnie Knight would like to express our sincere appreciation to all those who extended their kindness during this time of bereavement.
