Milton E. Sontheimer, age 89, of Erie, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at St. Vincent Medical Center.
He was born in Erie on February 14, 1925 the son of the late William and Marzella Ames Sontheimer.
He graduated from Academy High School in 1943 and then went on to serve in the United States Navy.
He was a baker for 52 years and had been co- owner of MaryElla Pastries.
He was a member of the Abiding Hope Lutheran Church and the North Atlantic and Pacific Theater.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Sontheimer; a son, Paul Sontheimer and his wife Christina of Fairview; a brother, William Sontheimer and his wife Sharron of Erie; a granddaughter, Tina Sontheimer of Fairview and two nieces, Cheryl Bewich and Stacy Wingerter.
Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W. 26th Street (at Powell Ave) on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and are invited to attend a service on Saturday at Abiding Hope Lutheran Church, 5312 Peach Street Erie, PA 16509, at 10:00a.m with Rev John Coleman officiating. .
Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
