Mildred Bennett

Mildred J. “Millie” Bennett, age 83, of Girard and formerly of Fairview, passed away Friday, August 19, 2016 at St. Mary’s at Asbury Ridge

She was born January 18, 1933 in Albion, a daughter of the late Jonathon and Hazel Adams Spaulding.

Millie graduated from Millcreek High School. She worked as an Avon District Manager for seven years and at Sears Department Store for twenty three years, until her retirement. Millie was an active member of the Girard United Methodist Church, where she was involved in many committees and the Fairview Garden Club. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She loved her dogs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Spaulding and sister, Wilma Archacki.

Millie is survived by her husband, Donald Bennett, whom she married in 1952; two sons: Greg A. Bennett and his wife, Jane and Donn R. Bennett; a daughter, Starlene K. Brooks and her husband, Robert. She is further survived by five grandchildren: Angela Rolph and her husband, Aaron, Stephen Bennett and his wife Ashley, Kayla Brooks, Mara Bennett and Alexandra Bennett; as well as two great grandchildren, Allie and Carter.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East in Girard, on Monday from 2pm until the time of service at 4 pm with Rev. Brock Beveridge officiating.
