Michelle Binney

Michelle Ann Binney, age 53, of Erie, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2018 at UPMC-Hamot Medical Center.Born February 24, 1965 in Erie, she was a daughter of the late William C. Podgorny and Rosemary (Huya) Podgorny, who survives. Michelle was a 1983 graduate of St. Benedict’s High School. She worked at American Tinning and Galvanizing for a time and then for Polymer Molding as a shipping coordinator. A lover of shopping, she was also a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father. In addition to her mother, Michelle is survived by her husband, Charles ‘Chuck’ Binney, of Erie; a son, Kyle (Erica) Reynolds, of Erie; 10 grandchildren, including Ryan and Riley Reynolds, of Erie; three step children, Jamie Detwiler, of Indiana, Justin (Melinda) Binney, of Ohio and Jodie Binney, of Erie; three siblings, Susan (Robert) Troup, of Boston, MA, Michael (Destiny) Podgorny, of Iola, WI and Cheri Podgorny of Erie as well as several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to call from 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Road, Erie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM, Friday, August 31, 2018 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 1553 East Grandview Blvd., Erie. Committal services and burial will be in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
