Michele E. Fickenworth, 52, of Erie, died suddenly on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born on November 9, 1966, in Erie, daughter of Betty Ann Smith Fickenworth and the late John H. Fickenworth. A 1988 graduate of Tech Memorial High School, she attended classes at the Barber National Institute and daily attended Club Erie there. Michele enjoyed shopping, crafting and watching movies, and loved her cat "Spazzy".
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Norman Lecker; a sister, Kimberly Fickenworth Hiles; and an aunt, Phyllis Hooper.
Survivors include her mother, Betty Ann Smith Lecker; two sisters, Amy Hiles and husband Rob and Beth Kendall and husband Craig; two aunts, Luella Heitzenrater and husband George and Carol June Smith; four nieces, Amanda Kendall Orsini and husband Joe, Caitlyn Kendall, Brittany Hites and husband Caleb and Abigail Hiles; a nephew, Trevor Hiles; two grandnephews, Bryson Orsini and Luke Balinski; a grandniece, Evelyn Grace Hites; and many cousins, all of Erie.
The family will receive friends at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street, Tuesday, June 11, 2019 from 3 p.m. until the time of a Celebration of Life Service there at 5 p.m. The Rev. Erik Young, of St. John's Lutheran Church, will officiate. Memorials may be made to The ANNA Shelter, 1555 E. 10th Street, Erie, PA 16511.
