Michael E. Swabb, 65, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023, surrounded by his loving family after enduring many health challenges, including a decades long battle with disabling Crohn’s Disease, several strokes, and most recently metastatic lung cancer.
He was born on January 22, 1958, in Erie, PA, a beloved son of the late George L. Swabb and Jane M. (Clark) Swabb.
He was a graduate of McDowell High School and was listed in Who’s Who of High School Students for math and engineering. He also attended classes at Gannon College. Michael worked as a mechanical engineer and electrical engineer throughout his career.
He could fix, and build, almost anything with his mechanical knowledge. In addition to spending time with his mother and sister, Pam, and their dogs at Presque Isle, Michael enjoyed quality time with family and friends. He was an animal lover and an avid reader.
Michael was a kind, intelligent man with the strength and willpower to persevere through the toughest of times. He will be deeply missed by his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Georgia Lee Swabb; brother Martin Swabb and his wife Judith (Polancy); Aunt Patti Ann Clarke; Aunt and Uncle Craig and Hilde Clark; cousin Linda Clark Loesch; and his very beloved dogs, Fritz, Teddy Bearra, Jack, and Isaac.
He is survived by his beloved sisters, Pamela Swabb, and Jane Swabb DeMichael (Raymond), and his beloved nephew, Raymond DeMichael; his cousins, Eva Clark and Cindy Clark Wilcox (Michael); his nieces, Julie Engle and Kimberly Gavio; and his second cousins and grand nieces and nephews.
