He is preceded in death by both his parents, his sister Kay Hain and his brother Edward G. “Corky” Schloss, Jr.
Mike was born and raised in Erie, PA, graduated from Cathedral Prep in 1963, attended Gannon University, majoring in accounting, before being drafted into the National Guard and serving out of Fort Ord, CA.  He helped with the family business, Eddie Schloss and Sons Dairy. He was employed by the Boston Store, while attending Gannon.  When he returned from military service he was employed at Security People’s Bank.  He went on to work for Erie Manufacturing and Supply as sales manager and vice president, before retiring after 28 years of employment.  He was also a member of the Erie Maennerchor Club and Erie Yacht Club.
Mike was an avid sports enthusiast.  While football and baseball were his primary passions, he was always his children’s number one fan.  He was a voracious reader, most notably of John Grisham and American history. He made friends everywhere he traveled and was a great storyteller. He loved being outdoors and working on “the farm”.  He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him.
