Mella Nathan

Mella (Melly) Levy Nathan, age 96 of Erie, died Sunday, August 20, 2017.

She was born in Mainz, Germany on June 6, 1921 daughter of the late Benedikt and Clara Michel Levy.

Mella was a 1939 graduate of Academy High School.

She was a member of Temple Anshe Hesed, was a member of the Temple Sisterhood, and belonged to the Hamot Aid Society.

Mella was preceded in death by her husband, Hans Nathan; and a sister, Hildegard Heilbrunn.

She is survived by two daughters, Rosalie Feistel of Newtown, PA; Lorraine Donaher and her husband Thomas of Hilton Head, SC; a son Kurt Nathan and his wife Susan of Grand Rapids, MI; four grandchildren, Michael Feistel (Nicole) of Newtown, PA, Leigh Nathan of New Haven, CT., Jeffrey and Joshua Nathan of Denver, CO. .

Friends may call at Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 West 10^th Street, on Wednesday from 10:30 am until the time of service at 11:30 am.

Burial will be in Anshe Hesed Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Temple Anshe Hesed, Cemetery Fund, 930 Liberty Street, Erie, PA 16502.
