Maxine Rogers

Maxine L. Rogers age 90, of Erie, died peacefully at home on Friday, December 14, 2012.

She was born in Jamestown, NY on November 12, 1922, a daughter of the late Carl and Hazel Lewis Swan. She was a graduate of Jamestown High School and married the late Andrew Rogers in 1941. She worked as a homemaker and raised four children. She enjoyed music, dancing, bowling, bingo and traveling to Oregon and Florida.

In addition to her parents Carl and Hazel Swan, she was also preceded in death by her husband Andrew and a daughter Bonnie Schenker in 2002 along with an infant grandson, Michael Clawson in 1970. Also preceded by five brothers; Ward, Clair, Donald, Lewis and Claude Swan along with a sister, Rosslyn Moyer.

Maxine leaves three children; Andrew Rogers and his wife Cheryl of Erie, Autumn Riley and her husband Larry of Conneaut, OH and Claudia Clawson and her husband Leonard also of Erie. She is further survived by 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren along with a sister, Autumn Isaacson of Las Vegas, NV, a daughter-in-law, Joleen Olszewski Rogers and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Thursday from 5:00 pm till the time of service at 7:00 pm at Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street (at Powell Ave.) with Reverend Richard Page officiating.

Private burial at Lakeside Cemetery.
