Mattie Clark

Mattie L. Clark, age 73, of Erie, died Saturday, October 5, 2013. She was born in Dublin Georgia on December 1, 1939 a daughter of the late Levi and Leola Wright Whipple. She attended school in Georgia before moving to Erie where she worked for 40 years as a nursing assistant at Hamot Hospital. She loved to bake cakes and pies and in later years was very fond of visiting with friends at the various senior centers in Erie. She also was a keen investor in the stock market. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Norman Whipple and a sister, Ella Mae Wiggins. Mattie is survived by a sister, Mary Lee Williams, four children; Kenneth Whipple of Savanna, GA, Yvonne Whipple of Erie, Arnold “Edith” Whipple of Savanna, GA and Kim Whipple of Erie; seven grandchildren, Amber, Sebastian, Sheldon, John, Ron, Sebasia and Serenity and a host of great-grandchildren and loving friends.
