Marylin B. Cohen passed away on Monday, May 1st 2018.
Marylin was the daughter of the late Aaron and Dora Bernstein, born on April 22nd, 1926 in Cincinnati Ohio.
She graduated from Walnut Hills High School and the University of Cincinnati.
She was married to love of her life, Lyman Cohen for 65 wonderful years. She was a wonderful wife and mother, she believed in tithing and was very active in the community. She was active in Hadassah, the National Council of Jewish Women, the Erie Jewish Community Council and Temple Anshe Hesed. She was also active in the “Green Circle Program,” which helped promote empathy building among children and she helped established day care programs in Erie. She was the co-owner of the Fabric Shop with Lyman and she also did accounting for several local businesses.
She is survived by her husband Lyman. She is also survived by her daughter Amy Paul (Jerry Newfarmer) of Cincinnati, Ohio, her daughter Julie of Monroeville PA, her grandsons Jonah Paul (Alisa) of Pittsburgh, PA and Martin Paul (Beverly Luedeker) of Cincinnati, Ohio, and her great-granddaughter Abigail Paul.
She was preceded in death by her brother Benjamin Bernstein and her son-in-law Howard Paul.
Friends may call on the family Friday, May 4th at Temple Anshe Hesed, 930 Liberty Street, from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 noon with Rabbi Emily Losben-Ostrov presiding. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
