MaryJane “Jane” Vincent, age 87, of Erie, PA passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at home. Jane was born in Watertown, NY on December 24, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Dr. Russell and Rebecca Jane Tobin Anderson.

She graduated from Academy High School. In addition to raising her children, Jane worked at GE, the American Heart Association, Smith Meter, as a realtor for Messenkopf Realtors and as a model for Halle’s Brothers.

She and her husband James were former members of the First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant where he served as a Deacon. They were also active in the Erie Maennerchor Club, Erie Yacht Club, Siebenbuerger Club, Zukor Club, Danish Club and Sertoma Club.

Jane loved boating and traveling, especially to Florida. She will be remembered for taking charge, her strong constitution and her courageous lengthy battle with cancer. She will also be remembered for being a great matriarch of the Vincent family which she did with pride and her loving, caring devotion to her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years James in February of this year, a son James Douglas Vincent in 2009 and her sister Beatrice Lou Anderson Roth McNamara.

Jane is survived by a daughter, Sharon L. Muse, of Erie; a son, John S. Vincent, of Carmel, IN and a daughter-in-law, Catherine Vincent, of Ponte Vedra, FL. Her granddaughters: Jennifer L. Muse, and her fiancé Brian Courtney; Julie L. Muse; and Lauren E. Vincent, of Ponte Vedra, FL and great-granddaughter, Abigail Jane Muse. She is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews and of course her cat Ellie.

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 W. 26th Street, (at Powell Avenue,) on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Wednesday at a time to be announced.

Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
