Maryann Gornall

MaryAnn Gornall, age 86 of Erie, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Elmwood Gardens, surrounded by her loving family.   She was born on August 15, 1930 in Erie, a daughter of the late George and Anna Hamula Karmazon.

MaryAnn graduated from East High School and married the love of her life Robert Gornall in 1951 and together they celebrated over 60 years of marriage.  She was a very loving and devoted mother to all of her children whom she loved dearly.  Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and recently first great grandson Donovan.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert D. Gornall, Sr., daughter Dr. Lori A. Gornall; and her siblings William, John, and Evelyn.

Survivors include sons: Robert D. Gornall, Jr. and his wife Louise of Erie; Mark W. Gornall and his wife Pamela of Houston, Texas, and Paul J. Gornall and his wife Kelly of Erie; daughters Lisa M. DeMarco and her husband Dr. David DeMarco of Erie and Gail Henderson and her husband James of CA; grandchildren: Dr. David James and his wife Megan, Dr. Christopher DeMarco and his wife Kelly, Jonathan DeMarco and his wife Aubry, James and Lisa Ann DeMarco, Lauren and Matthew Gornall, all of Erie; Grahame G. Gornall of Texas, John Schneider, Mary, James “Paul” and Susan Henderson, all of CA and her first great grandchild Donovan DeMarco.  She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 West 10th Street, on Thursday August 10th from 5 to 9 p.m., and are invited to the funeral service there on Friday August 11^th at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
