Mary Wallace

Mary Catherine Wallace age 73, of Erie, passed away Monday, September 9, 2013 at Manchester Commons.

She was born in Pittsburgh on November 21, 1939 a daughter of the late Harry and Margaret Collins Perry.

Mary graduated from the St. Francis School of Nursing and then went on to work at Monsour Medical Center for 25 years. During her time there, she received the Nurse of the year award in 1985. She then continued her nursing career working for Dr. WJ Monsour for 10 more years.

Mary enjoyed reading and caring for her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband David J. Wallace to whom she was married for 45 years.

She is survived by two daughters, Susan M. Carnes and Patricia Wallace Newcomb, her husband Don Newcomb and four grandchildren, Audra S. and Matthew W. Carnes and Alexander and Zachary Newcomb.

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W 26th Street on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until a time of sharing at 7:00 p.m.
